Learn about the ways your body gets information about the outside world into your brain - and how to trick it into seeing, smelling and tasting things which aren't there! Think smelly slime, making brain hats, mapping neurons and more.

✈️ DAY 2: AEROSPACE ADVENTURE 🚁

Go up, up and away with this flying-themed activities. Who can build the best paper aeroplane? When is a teabag actually a rocket? And what use is a helicopter if it can only go down...?

Shoot for the Moon, with the Fun Science Cheltenham holiday club! Join Diatom Dave for five days of space rockets, dinosaurs, lightning and more at a super science camp for the seriously brainy! Each day is suitable for children aged 5-11 and will be overseen by a team of highly trained fun scientists.

This club will be held on the 26th, 27th, 28th, 29th and 30th October, from 10am to 3pm, at Cheltenham Bournside School, Warden Hill Road, GL51 3EF and costs just £25 per day with sibling discounts available.

IMPORTANT – Due to children needing to remain in one ‘bubble’, we are only accepting bookings for two days or more to ensure we can create consistent groups of children attending on the same days.

🧪 Get EGG-sperimental with Fun Science Cheltenham this Easter! 🔥

Expert fun scientists Diatom Dave, Hydraulic Hannah and Galaxy Gemma will lead two days of egg-splosions, egg-scavations and el-egg-tricity at a new venue: CLEEVE SCHOOL in BISHOP'S CLEEVE.

Taking place on THURSDAY 4 and FRIDAY 5 APRIL 2024, the sessions will provide interactive, educational, [mostly] egg-themed fun for 30 children ages 5-11.

We'll be hatching fizzy dinosaur eggs, hunting chocolates using forensic science, YEETING some egg-stronauts with our hydraulic rocket launcher and other classic seasonal capers - as well as some BRAND NEW EXPERIMENTS FOR 2024!

📐 THU 4 - This egg-themed session will be a mixture of classic seasonal activities and all-new experiments in chemistry, biology and physics. Can your child walk on eggs without breaking them? Let's find out!

📐 FRI 5 - We're extending British Science Week 2024 from March into April, introducing all-new experiments on this year's theme of TIME. Build sundials, explore stratigraphy and understand GPS through fascinating activities!

It's a short term, this one... Never fear, Fun Science is here to occupy their minds (and hands) with our exciting, five-star, STEM-themed activity days!

We'll be exploring the incredibly small and the unimaginably large with two days of experiments, games and things to make.

WED 14 FEB - UP AND ATOM! We're exploring the super-small pieces which make up everything around us - atoms, molecules, polymers and materials - including their important properties and how they interact with each other in chemical reactions, nuclear reactions, fires and explosions! All risk assessed and conducted by highly trained stunt scientists...

THU 15 FEB - TO INFINITY AND BEYOND! We're thinking big today. Really big - like, our solar system and beyond! Children can get to grips with outer space by designing rockets, hunting for meteorites and even becoming astronauts!

Christmas will soon be here, then Boxing Day... and then it will be back to work! Fortunately, Fun Science is here to help fill the gap before the start of a new school term, with two days of science activities on a wintry theme.

Diatom Dave, Solar Susie and Galaxy Gemma - all highly experienced and enhanced DBS checked - will welcome children to Bournside School on 4 and 5 January, making sure they have a safe and exciting day, with some treats to take home as well.

Together they will send Santa back to Lapland on a rocket, grow giant snow mountains, make fizzing festive potions and create their own festive decorations:

* THURSDAY 4 JANUARY: FESTIVE LEFTOVERS - Christmas has passed, but we're still "walking in a winter wonderland"! Expect curiously warm snow, festive smells, brilliant bubbles, freeze-in-the-bag ice cream and lots more during this messy, hands-on day.

* FRIDAY 5 JANUARY: SEND SANTA HOME! - We need to send Santa packing back to Lapland! To do so we'll try building a bridge, floating air-powered boats and kitting out a hydraulic rocket, amongst other engineering solutions.

Fun Science is back this October half term for spooky season science! Days are suitable for children aged 5-10, and will be run by qualified Fun Scientists with first aid training.

This club will be held on the 30th and 31st of October from 10am to 3pm at Bournside School, Warden Hill Road, Cheltenham, GL51 3EF.

Optional ‘stay and play’ hours will be available from 9am to 10am (early drop off) and 3pm to 4pm (late collection) at £3.50 per child per hour. This can be booked in advance when reserving your place, or paid for in cash on the day.

Unfortunately we are not currently able to accept tax-free childcare vouchers, as we are not currently registered with OFSTED.

Fun Science provides high-quality, STEM-themed activity dats during most school holidays. We are 5* rated, first aid trained with enhanced DBS checks and a full safeguarding policy.

Clubs will take place in G Block: turn right just inside the school's main entrance, go past the Sixth Form Centre to the end of the car park and look for a green gate on your left. Go through the gate and take the first double door on the right; we'll be somewhere just inside!

Fun Science UK returns to host more action-packed activity days this summer! Each day will be suitable for children aged 4-11 and will be run by Diatom Dave and Jurassic Jess.

Both are DBS checked and fully insured, Diatom Dave is trained in pediatric first aid, and sessions are run in accordance with the Fun Science UK safeguarding policy.

This club will take place at Cheltenham Bournside School, Warden Hill Road, GL51 3EF. It will run from 10am to 3pm each day, over two blocks of three days each: on the 26-28 July, and then the 30 August-1 September.

There will be optional stay-and-play (early drop off, late pick up) from 9am-10am and 3pm to 4pm (£3.50 per child per hour). BOOK ALL 6 DAYS AND SAVE £15!

Session topics:

Wed 26 July - Under the Sea! Join us under the sea and learn all about the ocean! We will be discovering weird and wonderful creatures, exploring the different layers of the ocean, experimenting to find out how to clean up an oil spill, making wave bottles and much more.

Thu 27 July - Energy and Explosions! Explore energy transfers in the most exciting of ways – with explosions! Children will learn how car engines work, make their own mini rocket explosions, test out our super cool jumping poppers (and take one home) and there may even be a little bit of fire!

Fri 28 July - Slime and Polymers! This day is all about the science of making. Children will make glowing slime, fluffy slime and smelly slime! Plus, we will also be experimenting with polymers and making our own plastic creations with real hand mouldable plastic.

Wed 30 August - Volcanoes and Earthquakes! Help us build a GIANT volcano in the garden which we will then be erupting! We will also be learning how real volcanoes erupt and what causes an earthquake. A great session for children who like really big eruptions and fizzing, bubbling potions.

Thu 31 August - Electrical Inventions! In this session, children will be working with electrical circuits and making their own burglar alarm to take home with trip wires and pressure sensors. They will also be experimenting with lights and motors.

Fri 1 September - Survival Science! In this session, children will be learning how to filter water, create fire from flint and steel, build dens and much more to help them survive in the great outdoors. We will also be exploring nature in our exciting garden and learning how we can use it but also protect it.

It's baaa-a-a-ack! Spooky science returns to Badgeworth, with two days of Halloween-themed fun hosted by Fun Science!

Join Diatom Dave on Monday 25th and Tuesday 26th October for dinosaurs, ghosts, aliens, lightning and more at a Hallowe'en holiday camp for science-mad kids!

Each day is suitable for children aged 4-11 and will be overseen by a team of highly trained "mad" scientists.

MON 25: You don't have to look far to find real life monsters - dinosaurs, crocodiles, bugs and more will be explored in this session, alongside weather monsters like lightning and tornadoes!
TUE 26: Ghosts, zombies, aliens and monsters - are they real? Not normally - but they will be for one day, when Diatom Dave and co turn the ethereal into the experimental! 

Our fantastic venue is conveniently located just a short drive from both Cheltenham and Gloucester, with outdoor space so kids can run off some energy at lunch!

And for your convenience there's also the option of a one-hour stay and play session at either end of the day, at just £3 per child per hour.

COVID-19 NOTE: We're aware there have been calls for a "firebreak lockdown"  during October half-term, although the Government are currently against it.
